Abstract
Aerial survey of much of mainland Australia indicated a minimum population of feral Camelus dromedarius of 43 000. Most were in sand-dune desert across the broad band of country from Port Hedland in Western Australia to Innamincka in South Australia. Over 50% were in Western Australia
