Abstract
This paper reports on a study undertaken in Australia where the practice and development of generic skills was studied in the context of a Web-based learning environment. The results showed that students perceived the learning environment provided many opportunities for them to practice the generic skills being explored. Furthermore the results showed high levels of student perception of development of these generic skills. We conclude that Web-based learning environments offer many opportunities for teachers wishing to develop students’ generic skills and this is yet another advantage of using this technology for program delivery.
