'If you listened to everything they said, you wouldn't eat anything'

Schibeci, R. and Pullella, M. (1998) 'If you listened to everything they said, you wouldn't eat anything'. Australian Journal of Nutrition and Dietetics, 55 (1). pp. 29-32.

What current health communication models are used in human nutrition? Do these models help adults make sense of expert nutrition information? Do we need novel approaches in this area? The authors were faced with these questions when developing a database of sources of information about the nutrients iron, calcium and fat. Non-expert adults are surrounded by a large amount of nutrition information, some of which is correct, some incomplete, some contradictory, and some incorrect. Do we need models which are more likely to be effective in helping adults make sense of this plethora of nutrition information?
