Summary
The West Australian State Planning Commission has wide ranging powers over land use in our State. A proposed policy "Draft policy on Rural Land Use Planning" which replaces several existing policies and establishes the State Strategy for Rural Land Use Planning in Western Australia is currently available for public comment. It identifies the State's objectives and establishes policy framework, guidelines and standards for preparation of regional and local rural strategies, for zoning, subdivision and strata title applications, and for planning different forms of land use and management throughout the state.
