Action plan on water shortfall

Thompson, B. (1988) Action plan on water shortfall. The West Australian, 27 May 1988. p. 22 [Publication] [Special Collections]

An action plan is being prepared by the State Government, the Western Australian Water Authority and the South-West Development Authority for management of water resources in the South-West. The Minister for the South-West, Julian Grill, said the plan would secure water supplies to the South-West of the state, with a major recommendation to include increased incentives for the on farm storage of water. Mr Grill said the water scheme package could be extended to include horticulturalists, graziers and virtually all farming operations. The $32 million Harris River Dam which is due for completion in 1990 would overcome water supply and quality problems from Collie to the Great Southern.
