'Greenie' courting middle Australia

Malan, A. (1988) 'Greenie' courting middle Australia. The West Australian, 2 December 1988. p. 9 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Western Australian conservationist Rick Humphries has been appointed to a key lobbying position for the Australian Conservation Foundation in Canberra. Rick Humphries is proud to be called a 'greenie' and his campaigns are fought on the subtle battleground of public opinion. In the past three years, as campaign officer for the Australian Conservation Foundation, he has chipped away at the public image of greenies as unwashed radicals. At the same time he has preached his message that we cannot continue to have economic growth at any cost.

This article contains a caricature of Rick Humphries.
