WISALTS column
(1987) WISALTS column. Elders Weekly, 19 November 1987. p. 7 [Publication] [Special Collections]
Summary
How are you motivated to do something? What incentives do you need to make you move? Increasing degradation on your farm, seeing your land become less productive or seeing successful strategies being employed by your neighbour may be enough to encourage and motivate you. The Federal Government and the Taxation Department give farmers the right to claim 100% tax deductibility on soil conservation work in the year of expenditure. That's one way to provide some incentive to farmers to undertake some soil conservation work. Is it enough to motivate you? Especially this year, when some farms will have a higher-than-average income.
