Field days change direction

(1987) Field days change direction. Western Farmer, 3 September 1987. p. 16 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

The 1987 Newdegate Field Days will be a different show from usual. Drifting away from total machinery exhibits, the theme for this year's field days will be sheep and sheep handling. Field Day committee representative, Ian Chamberlain said the bright future for wool had changed farming procedures in the area. The record wool prices have given the region a new lease of life and many farmers are opting for big scale sheep production, with this in mind the field days organisers have included the final judging of the Newdegate ewe hogget competition.
