Confidence boosts field days outlook

(1987) Confidence boosts field days outlook. Western Farmer, 3 September 1987. p. 16 [Publication] [Special Collections]

A record crowd is expected for this year's Newdegate Field Days to be held next Thursday and Friday. Field days president, Frank Whittington says farmers will be inspired to attend field days spurred on by renewed confidence in agriculture, and believes the doom and gloom has gone from agriculture and that should help to achieve a record crowd attendance of around 15,000 people this year. The field days organising committee has spent the past 10 months working hard to ensure a smooth event. Mr Whittington said that the field days provide desperately needed funds that are injected into the town, with $18,000 donated towards construction of a new swimming pool in Newdegate last year.
