The news that the Wickepin Soil Conservation District Advisory Committee is to employ and train a soil conservation assistant to be available to local farmers has been greeted with enthusiasm by WISALTS president Pam McGregor. At the same time, she expressed concern at the limited knowledge which 4 months training with just the Department of Agriculture Office at Narrogin could give the assistant, and had written to the Wickepin chairman on behalf of WISALTS to suggest that the assistant spend come time with WISALTS personnel to gain an understanding of the interceptor bank system.
