WISALTS column
(1987) WISALTS column. Elders Weekly, 8 January 1987. p. 6 [Publication] [Special Collections]
Summary
Just over a month ago, the column mentioned the visit of Geoff Anderson of CSIRO, to Yugoslavia for the 18th World Congress of the International Union of Forest Research Organisations, and promised a follow up of some of the ideas Mr Anderson found of interest. The importance and innovation in site preparation techniques reported for tree and shrub establishment on difficult sites in southern Yugoslavia, the Sahel region of Northern Africa and northern Chiles impressed Mr Anderson, and he noted that there were sometimes two phases in a revegetation programme.
