WISALTS column
(1986) WISALTS column. Elders Weekly, 7 August 1986. p. 9 [Publication] [Special Collections]
Summary
One of the concerns of the WISALTS state committee and of the WISALTS consultants committee is ensuring that techniques for interceptor bank construction remain consistent and of a high standard. To meet this concern, the society periodically holds bulldozer operator refresher courses. One such course will be held over two days next month, planned and timed to allow people from further afield to see two different bulldozers on two different sites and to allow the choice of visiting one or both sites. Meckering is the venue for Tuesday 16 September when dozer operators and consultants can see a modified Cat D7 in operation. On Wednesday 17 September, the venue shifts to the Koorda area, where a modified John Deere 750 will be working. An open day will be held at the WISALTS research trial site on the Erskine property, Denbarker on Monday 11 August.
