Elders commitment to rural sector
(1986) Elders commitment to rural sector. Elders Weekly, 16 January 1986. p. 7 [Publication] [Special Collections]
Summary
The Chairman and Chief Executive of Elders IXL, John Elliott has emphasised his company's commitment to its pastoral activities. Mr Elliott said Elders Pastoral was a core business of the company and would continue, and that their takeover bid for the UK food and drink firm, Allied-Lyons has received considerable attention and some people have drawn inference that Elders will lessen its link with rural producers if the bid is successful. He added that the growth and size of Elders was designed to protect and enhance its commercial capabilities particularly in developing overseas markets.
