Spraying assistance

(1985) Spraying assistance. Elders Weekly, 16 May 1985. p. 5 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

The State Government has announced further assistance for the aerial spraying of crops in the Ord River will be provided over the next two years. Agriculture Minister, Dave Evans said $25,000 would be made available in 1985/86 to assist in providing a spraying service to farmers in the Ord River area. The government subsidy was required because there was insufficient spraying activity to permit the profitable operation of a commercial air spraying company unless the price paid by farmers was increased dramatically.
