Summary
A media release from the Wagin Woolorama Committee indicates while sheep are to the fore, they do not ignore the importance of conservation and farm management. A broadly based competition to acknowledge efforts in those areas is being sponsored by Wool Agency Company and administered by the Woolorama organisation. Awards are given for efforts in the field and will be given for actions to improve the whole farm or specific areas that relates to the overall farm plan. Woolorama committee member, Greg Brockway said that applications should be submitted as soon as possible to enable judging to take place with the announcement of the winners at next year's Wagin Woolorama. Three categories are: salt reclamation and waterlogging control; erosion control and new land management, each with a $500 cash prize and a trophy.
