WISALTS column
(1985) WISALTS column. Elders Weekly, 17 January 1985. p. 6 [Publication] [Special Collections]
Summary
Meetings of the state committee of WISALTS are held about eight times each year. However, because members of the committee are farmers, the spacings of meetings is wider at seedtime and harvest. The last meeting was held on November 10, 1984 and the next one is tomorrow, January 10, 1985. This January is traditionally held in Perth and the agenda this time includes discussion on the Dan Keast trial at Dangin, the Mount Barker Research Project and the next newsletter, due in the autumn. Another meeting with high priority and widespread coverage will be the National Agricultural Outlook Conference being held in Canberra on January 30 through to February 1. The Bureau of Agricultural Economics, which hosts the conference, has released its outlook papers and will release undated ones just before the conference begins. No doubt that conference heralds the start of the many seminars, conferences, workshops and field days which will be held in the state and in the country through 1985 by different groups, associations and societies.
