Soil conservation to be exposed

(1986) Soil conservation to be exposed. The Observer, 26 November 1986. p. 15 [Publication] [Special Collections]

The Kondinin Farm Improvement Group have been awarded $60,000 to put a "grass roots" face on the important funding generated from soil conservation research in Western Australia. Funded under the National Soil Conservation Program (NSCP) the Kondinin Farm Improvement Group plans to organise a "Roadshow" to tour major country regions. Bevan Bessen, a graduate of both agriculture and psychology, who has joined the group to spearhead the extension campaign, said that this program is vitally important to agriculture in Western Australia. The Kondinin Farm Improvement Group is widely recognised for the practical nature of its research in tillage and machinery and for its active extension work, and has a successful track record in gathering together farmers and researchers at workshops and seminars.
