WISALTS column

(1985) WISALTS column. Elders Weekly, 14 March 1985. p. 5 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

WISALTS column discusses the National Conservation Strategy of Australia as mentioned in a recent WISALTS column, sharing a phrase, "focusing on causes as well as symptoms". Further comment agreed that the strategy, when applied to agriculture in its many forms, made sense. The column continues with discussion on salt scalds and the principles applied to stop the scald from spreading. Recommendations include consulting with your WISALTS planner/surveyor who will map out the interceptor banks for a whole catchment at the start, and will advise you to put the first bank in at the top of the hill.
