WISALTS column discusses a publication titled "Our Water Resources" issued by the Water Authority. The topic of water leads into discussion about precipitation and evaporation, including the annual rate of rainfall for Australia and Western Australia. Western Australia is divided into four drainage divisions which form natural geographic regions including, the South West (agricultural areas); the Indian Ocean (Murchison and Pilbara); the Timor Sea (Kimberley) and the Western Plateau (Goldfields and inland deserts).
