WISALTS column

(1985) WISALTS column. Elders Weekly, 4 July 1985. p. 8 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

WISALTS column discusses the submission sent to the Federal Treasurer, including outlining areas of concern in the state, suggestions for action and some information about the WISALTS system and society. The various parts of the submission were quoted in mid-April in the House of Representatives by the member for O'Connor, Wilson Tuckey who was putting forward a case in support of the Minister for Primary Industry, John Kerin. The Soil Conservation Bill 1985, supported by Mr Kerin in his speech, has three major functions including the regulation of financial assistance, the creation of a National Soil Conservation Fund and the formation of a Soil Conservation Advisory Committee to advise on priorities and the operation of the bill.
