WISALTS column

(1985) WISALTS column. Elders Weekly, 29 August 1985. p. 86 [Publication] [Special Collections]

WISALTS column shares a report from he Beverley Times on 12 October 1912, which recognises the importance of agriculture to this state and to the country. The headline reads, "Agricultural Schools" and says that "agriculture is the backbone of the country". The article also discusses the Minister for Agriculture, H.D. Evans in his opening address at the 1984 WISALTS Annual General Meeting, paying tribute to the Society for acting as the catalyst to greatly increased research work into salinity, waterlogging, erosion and general land degradation. It will take long term research into these topics.
