Summary

The newly formed Farming and Allied Businesses Association has invited the Chamber of Commerce, the Primary Industry Association and other groups to support its "rural survival" lobby. FABA was formally established at a steering committee meeting, with well know farmer and businessman Jim Samson as interim chairman. Wongan Hills businessman, Bill Boekman was elected vice-chairman and farm management consultant, Peter Falconer was appointed treasurer and George Savell will be executive officer to the interim steering committee.
