WISALTS column

(1984) WISALTS column. Elders Weekly, 16 February 1984. p. 13 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

First anniversary of the WISALTS column, giving credit to Elders Weekly for their help in the Society's endeavour to foster awareness of land degradation, to encourage people in conservation methods and to provide information about the Whittington Interceptor Bank System. The ABC documentary series, Heartlands, in its first programme, has pointed out that lessons learnt the hard way are being forgotten too quickly, and we are still ploughing land which should remain untouched by tillage equipment of any sort.
