Wheatbelt water supplies discussion

(1984) Wheatbelt water supplies discussion. Elders Weekly, 15 March 1984. p. 17 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Water conservation in the north-eastern wheatbelt will be the topic for three field days. All three farms which are the subject of the field days, previously carted water for livestock and gardens. They now have on-farm water supplies from farm dams and roaded catchments as a result of a joint project between the Department of Agriculture and farmers. The first field day will be on Monday 19 March at Richard and Verity Spark's property, 10km west of Bonnie rock on the Mukinbudin Road. The second field day will be on Wednesday 21 March at Neville Westlund's property on the Koorda-Kulja Road, 10 km south of its intersection with the Beacon-Burakin Road. The third field day will be on Friday 23 March at Gordon Dodd's property, 10 km west of Kalannie on the Kalannie-Pithara Road.
