UWA appoints Professor of Soil Science

Alan Robson who joined the staff of the University of Western Australia in 1974, has been appointed Professor of Soil Science in the university's School of Agriculture. Professor Robson took up the position on 1 March. He has developed and maintained a number of major research programmes in plant nutrition, many involving extensive collaboration with researchers and scientists working in other areas of the discipline. Dr Robson is recognised as an outstanding teacher and is a successful leader of a large and productive research group of post-graduate students, research officers and post-doctoral fellows. He was awarded his doctorate from the University of Western Australia for the thesis, "Soil factors affecting the distribution of annual medicago species".
