WISALTS column

(1984) WISALTS column. Elders Weekly, 12 July 1984. p. 8 [Publication] [Special Collections]

The forthcoming Federal budget is expected to include an allocation of funds for implementing applications for assistance under the National Soil Conservation Programme 1984-1985. The funding is expected to be split into both state and national components, with the co-ordination of the state component done by soil conservation agencies. Advertising and notifications to organisations and groups involved in the areas potentially falling within the scope of the NSCP were invited to apply. The NSCP's aim is to develop and implement policies for the rehabilitation and sustainable utilisation of the nation's soil and land resources. The sooner we all work together, forgetting past differences, to form solutions to the problems, the better, that will give us more chance of making our land healthier, more productive and more importantly, more stable.
