WISALTS column

(1984) WISALTS column. Elders Weekly, 9 August 1984. p. 41 [Publication] [Special Collections]

WISALTS column shares the visit by Eugene (Red) Doering to Western Australia and briefly discusses his findings. Mr Doering said that "Throughout his visit in Western Australia, the expression 'rising water table' was frequently used in conjunction with soil salinity and salt scalds". He says further that the 'rising water table' applies to any set of circumstances which cause the water table in soil to rise over time, for example, because water accumulates in the soil profile.
