Pavilion recognises legend

(2008) Pavilion recognises legend. Dowerin GWN Machinery Field Days Program, 2008. p. 25 [Publication] [Special Collections]

In recognition of the many years of inaugural president and life member, L. John Metcalf contributing to the success of the Dowerin Field Day, the Dowerin Events Management Board has named the new on-site visitors centre, the LJ Metcalf Pavilion. Mr Metcalf said that when the field days started, he hadn't imagined the event would be as big as it is, although back then there were a lot more machinery demonstrations in the field. He also paid tribute to Pamela Anderson, the inaugural secretary and the role she played in getting the field days off the ground.
