Summary

Union feature article discusses the State legislation to establish a rural housing authority has been hailed as a genuine and worthwhile initiative by the Farmers Union rural finance committee chairman, Mr. Harry Whittington.
The legislation would give farmers equal access to the traditional sources of housing finance available and correct a serious and long standing injustice to the farming community.
The new Bill contained several measures where the buyer could offer adequate security arrangements, with home finance institutions would be encouraged to participate in the scheme under cover of mortgage insurance or a State Government guarantee.
