Summary

Article discusses the new Commissioner of soil conservation to head the Government's drive on the problems of erosion, salinity and land degradation, has been announced.
The new Commissioner is Dr. Graeme Robertson, and he will take over on June 2 from Mr. Graham Spencer who is relinquishing the position because of ill health.
Dr. Robertson will also become chief of the Department of Agriculture's Division of Resource Management which includes the functions of soil conservation, soil research, irrigation and rangeland management.
The Premier, Sir Charles Court, said that Dr. Robertson, a former Rhodes Scholar, was a highly qualified scientist with an international reputation.
