Blanket protection for steep batters

(1985) Blanket protection for steep batters. The Earthmover and Civil Contractor, January 1985. [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Article explains a biodegradable Australian-made soil stabilisation blanket called Environmat.
Environmat was selected by the Redland Shire Council in Queensland to protect steep batters in a soil reconstruction project.
The channel runs close to private properties so no erosion risk was allowed.
The blanket consists of poplar and/or pine woodwool combined with a plastic mesh.

This article contains one image of a view of the soil stabilisation blanket installation.
