Summary
Article explains that Brookton Cricket Club struck a major problem six years age when it decided to put in a grass wicket on its ground, grass would not grow.
The pitch was on salt-affected land which would not support the grass for a turf wicket.
The club replaced the concrete wickets with salt-tolerant couch grass, which was transported from Frankland.
The turf requires a lot of attention to keep it in top condition which if provided by honourary curator, Bob (Pop) Meecham.
