Summary

Article discusses current research by CSIRO and Western Australian Government departments is not too late to contribute method for minimising stream salinity problems, according to Dr. Adrian Peck, a senior principal research scientist with the CSIRO.
Dr. Peck said that it was hoped that this research would also help in the reclamation of salt land.
Dr. Peck was responding to criticism of a joint research project by the CSIRO, the Forests Department, the Public Works Department and the Agriculture Department on the catchment of the Wellington Dam from the senior vice-president of the Farmers' Union, Mr. Harry Whittington, who said the project was more than 30 years late.
