Summary
Article explains Mr. H.S. Whittington, senior vice-president of the Farmers' Union, has been elected chairman of the new Grain Research Committee.
The Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Dick Old said that Mr. Whittington was one of the two producer representatives on the committee, which had been set up under section 28 of the Grain Marketing Act.
One of the committees main functions would be to distribute funds raised from a small levy on all grains handled by the Grain Pool of Western Australia.
