Summary

Article explains the five-way contest for the general presidency of the State's No.1 primary producing organisation, the West Australian Farmers' Union.
The front-runner in the $11,000 a year, plus expenses position is senior vice-president, Wolf Boetcher, with other candidates being Harry Whittington, John Walsh, Ernie Skinner and Don Maisey, a former president of the Australian Wheatgrowers' Federation and 1963-1974 Country Party MHR for the Western Australian electorate of Moore.
The five-way election follows the decision of present general president, Don Eckersley to stand down to concentrate on his presidency of the Canberra-based Australian Farmers' Federation.
