Time to pool facts on salt

Whittington, H.S. (1977) Time to pool facts on salt. Farmer and Grazier, 12 May 1977. [Document] [Special Collections]

Letter from H.S. Whittington, senior vice-president, Farmers' Union of WA, chairman, Rural Water and Soil Conservation to congratulate, Sheryl Fewster on her article, 'Brookton plan to beat the salt'.
The article condensed the points to interest the average reader with those who have a salinity problem can seek more detailed information.
Mr. Whittington admits the original contours were designed by a departmental officer.
The original contour banks were not successful and the entire approach had to be re-planned.
This was a new concept with a great deal of time and research involved.
