Summary

Article explains that a meeting of farmers at Rocky Gully Hall is expected to shape the next phase of the south-west clearing bans issue.
Farmers' Union secretary, Dick Gargett and junior vice-president Winston Crane will report on the progress of union negotiations with the state government aimed at cooling the issue.
The union met Works and Water Supplies Minister Graham MacKinnon to present a submission on the government's clearing legislation.
The Union was seeking changes to the guidelines to allow farmers in Zone A areas to be able to clear some land.
