Tests aim to beat salt

(1977) Tests aim to beat salt. Farmer and Grazier, 18 August 1977. p. 14 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Article explains where two state departments are working on a project that could make a significant contribution to the fight against salinity in Western Australia's soil.
The tree-planting experiment by the Forests and Public Works Department is hoping to lower the water table level on land bought two years ago about 30 miles north-east of Collie.
The departments have planted radiata pine, pinaster pine, Murray River red gum and Tasmanian blue gum trees on the 1,200 hectare Stene property.
