Minister sees salt land work

(1978) Minister sees salt land work. The Countryman, 14 December 1978. p. 6 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Article explains a closer understanding between the Department of Agriculture and members of the WISALTS group is possible after a ministerial inspection of a farm using the system.
The Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Dick Old, the Director of Agriculture, Mr. Noel Fitzpatrick and two senior department officials visited the Malcom Henning's property at Koorda where interceptor banks have been used since early last year.
The department is involved in monitoring programmes at Quairading and in the Wellington Dam area.
The visiting party toured the Hennings property to see the paddocks treated with interceptor banks and were shown a series of infra-red photographs which indicate variations in paddock moisture and plant growth rates.
