Trial of salt-land system sought

Rogers, A. (1978) Trial of salt-land system sought. The West Australian, 27 October 1978. p. 30 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Letters feature from Allan Rogers of Tammin sharing his views on the Department of Agriculture not accepting the Whittington Interceptor bank method for reclaiming salt land.
The department does not consider the method applicable to the problem in Western Australia and that the method is worth one decent trial.
Mr. Whittington's work has interested thousands of Western Australian farmers who have surveyed the many areas treated and are convinced that at last there is a solution to the problem.
Mr. Rogers said that as a person who depends on the land for his livelihood and who appreciates how much our efforts affect the nation, he is appealing to our representatives in government to take the Department of Agriculture to task and instruct it to test the Whittington system thoroughly and show us proof of its failure.
