Time for positive action

Whittington, H.S. (1978) Time for positive action. The Countryman, 14 September 1978. p. 14 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Article discusses the view of H.S. Whittington in response to a recent article of a report on a meeting held at Koorda which foreshadowed an improvement in communication between the Department of Agriculture and the WISALTS group.
The Director of Agriculture, Mr. Fitzpatrick is reported to have said that the WISALTS group had the potential to be valuable in combating salt.
Mr. Whittington makes three points on Mr. Fitzpatrick's reported statement, including, discussing the practical proof of the validity of its views; had there been any real assistance in controlling the salinity problem then WISALTS would never been formed, and it is generous of Mr. Fitzpatrick to say that his department would discuss the basis of its views with WISALTS at any time.
