(1979) Warning on dangers of salinity. The Farmers Weekly, 8 February 1979. p. 10 [Document] [Special Collections]

Summary

Article warns high salt content and a rapid increase in stock water salinity can cause death in severe cases.
The Department of Agriculture reminded farmers that water supplies can become saltier towards the end of summer and should be checked for salt content.
The Department is offering a free check on stock water salinity, with water samples of at least 300 ml analysed at offices in farming areas with advisers discussing with farmers the recognised maximum salt content of water acceptable for animals, dry, breeding or in milk.
