Intake of salt

Kelly, F. (1979) Intake of salt. The West Australian, 13 February 1979. [Publication] [Special Collections]

Letters to the editor feature opinion by Fred Kelly, Viking Road, Dalkeith to say the announcement that Perth's drinking water contained between 225 and 425 milligrams per litre of sodium salts brought forth a lot of alarmist remarks from some experts and many environmentalists, even though the safe limit by world standards is 550 mpl.
Mr. Kelly suggests that if any Perth resident wanting to eliminate 325mg of sodium salt from his or her intake to counteract water salinity can do so by eliminating one small pinch of table salt, once a day.
