Salt gets the 'Bullet'

Gill, I. (1979) Salt gets the 'Bullet'. Western Farmer and Grazier, 19 April 1979. p. 21 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Article explains that a single-row version of the Bentall Bullet plough is expected to be produced in time to make an appearance at the Dowerin field days in August.
David Bentall, a Mingenew farmer, explained to visitors at a field day at Perenjori that the single-row saltland plough would allow more farmers to implement mole draining techniques in the battle against salt.
The original two-row prototype of the plough was demonstrated by Mr. Bentall to about 30 farmers on Roy Hessford's property.
Mr. Bentall claims clearing in the south-west could go ahead unhindered if done in conjunction with mole draining using his bullet plough.
Last week's demonstration of the Bentall Bullet plough highlighted the plough could be used to reclaim saltland cheaply with little physical effect on the environment.
Mr. Bentall claims the system will flush salt from the surface with the aid of rainfall, and it will intercept and drain away water rising in the soil which would normally deposit salt on the surface on evaporation.

This article contains two photographs, one image showing farmers examining a simple back hoe drain dug at the Perenjori field day, and one image of David Bentall with his bullet plough.
