Field days popular

(1978) Field days popular. The Countryman, 10 August 1978. p. 18 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Field days organised by WISALTS attracted more than 700 people in July. About 260 people attended a talk given by Harry Whittington and WISALTS committee members at the Pithara Hall. In the Dowerin area 120 people braved wintry conditions to attend. Nokaning Farms, near Merredin, provided field day facilities and up to 175 people attended, with students from the Cunderdin Agricultural School among these. The weather was particularly wet at Darkan and the numbers dropped to 95. Even though it was another wintry day experienced at Bruce Woodward's farm at Wickepin, up to 110 people attended the field day.
