'There is at present the greatest bull-dozing boom we have seen. Is this responsible government?'

Packard, T. 'There is at present the greatest bull-dozing boom we have seen. Is this responsible government?'. Western Farmer and Grazier, [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Opinion feature written by Ted Packard of Unicup to refute Mr. MacKinnon's article published in the Western Farmer on May 17th.
Mr. MacKinnon said the government acted in a very responsible way in regards to the clearing ban situation with the ban introduced for salt control.
Mr. Packard has tried to put his case to the government, as well as through the Farmers Union but claims that Mr. MacKinnon appears to have been appointed as the front man to fob off the public with false impressions and keep the affected farmers quiet.
In Mr. Packard's opinion there seems to be the a bulldozing boom in the state, and he questions if the government is really concerned about the salt problems or if this may be a way to turn the electors' gaze away from the real issue.
