Letter to the editor - Action needed

Burnett, R. (1979) Letter to the editor - Action needed. Western Farmer and Grazier, 29 November 1979. [Publication] [Special Collections]

Letter to the editor by Ralph Burnett, Watheroo, Western Australia.

Mr Burnett comments it appears that Professor Holmes reached his conclusions in haste and these were aimed at not rocking the boat of his peers. Professor Holmes' strong association with engineers, scientists, soil physicists and agriculturists does infer he is of the opinion that, outside this elite, no person knows anything about salt. The report recommends deep drainage, yet where in the wheatbelt of Western Australia has Professor Holmes or any other government researcher established a comprehensive system of drains, and measured their effectiveness.
