Letter to the editor - Figures on salt faulty

Stoneman, T.C. (1980) Letter to the editor - Figures on salt faulty. Western Farmer and Grazier, 21 May 1980. [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Letter to the editor by T.C. Stoneman, Principal soil research officer, Department of Agriculture, Western Australia,.

Response to a previous article "Farm salt toll expands" by Nigel Higgs that quotes a number of figures for areas of salt land from an article to be published in the Journal of Agriculture. Mr Stoneman disputes that the calculations on percentage changes in areas of salt land are woefully astray and should be corrected, salinity is a serious problem in Western Australia and it is important to keep its severity in perspective.
