The winner's plough

(1981) The winner's plough. Western Farmer and Grazier, 3 December 1981. p. 2 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Promotion of the Western Farmer and Grazier Chamberlain John Deere Fight Against Salt competition. Valued at $6,000 the chisel plough will be given to the farmer who has taken steps to overcome or retard salt encroachment on their property. The judges will be looking at the scale of a farmer's efforts as well as techniques, results and methods to minimise or overcome salinity difficulties. The complexity and repercussions of the salt problem in Western Australia means that there is considerable scope for farmers to arrive at a range of solutions.
