Concern on wheatbelt land

Zekulich, M. (1981) Concern on wheatbelt land. The West Australian, 18 December 1981. p. 5 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Professor C.A. (Lex) Parker of the University of Western Australia is calling for a moratorium on any further clearing in the wheatbelt, saying this should apply until the community learnt how to handle the fragile land properly. Professor Parker will retire today after 30 years at the University but will continue his association with the university and WA agriculture through an appointment as an honorary fellow for the next three years.
